I have gone to Shiley for eye care for the last 4 years or so. They've been terrific. I had a specialist for what might have been glaucoma and he was able to rule it out after they performed a series of tests. I was surprised at how thorough they were.

Recently, I had cataracts removed by Dr. Weldon Haw, M.D., in two separate surgeries, one last December and one in January, 2020. He performed surgery on my neighbor as well.

I could not be more pleased. The process was painless and the results spectacular! I no longer wear glasses except for reading very small fonts, and my distance vision is corrected. Colors are vivid and I don't need nearly the light I needed before to be able to read.

I really couldn't be happier. Dr. Haw was friendly, supportive and reassuring throughout the process. His education, training, and experience are unmatched and I would not trust this surgery to anyone else. So, I didn't, and it paid off! Highly recommended.

OMG...what can I say about Dr H! He is an amazing guy and you will be in the best hands...period. I developed a large cataract in the center of my vision immediately after retinal detachment. It essentially had me blind. I lived like that for 1 year because I was told a cataract replacement uses vibration/radio waves to break up the cornea, and that Vibration "could" cause another retinal detachment. I was freaked out.

Dr. Haw was patient and very caring, as I asked a thousand questions. He knew how scared I was. He shot straight with me & told me he could not give me any odds on what my vision would be with new corneal lens because of my retinal surgery. But he assured me he could give me much much better vision & that staying blind wasn't in my best interest. He made me feel confident in having the surgery. That's the hallmark of a great Doctor. I thank God daily for Dr H!

If you need cataract surgery, you owe it to yourself to see the BEST, and that's Dr Haw at Shiley Eye Institute.

My cataract surgery with Dr. Weldon Haw was amazing! The organization and efficiency of the entire Shiley Eye Institute, even in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, is quite remarkable. The clarity of the vision in my right eye with the new Vivity lens implant far exceeds my expectations. I recommend Dr. Haw and his staff wholeheartedly and without reservation.
