Stuart Brown, MD, is Professor of Ophthalmology. He is Board Certificated in Ophthalmology and is a Cornea & Anterior Segment specialist.
Dr. Brown’s research and clinical interests include corneal transplantations and cataract surgeries. He has been honored with several awards, including; Diplomat of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology (1964), Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Award (1976), Wolfe Foundation Lecture, Dept. of Ophthalmology, University of Iowa (1980), San Diego Press Club Headliner of the Year in Medicine (1987), Maimonides Award from the State of Israel Bonds (1993), Jules Stein Lecturer (1993), Champion for Children Award, Children’s Hospital and the San Diego County Office of Education (1994), McLean Medal, Cornell/Columbia University, New York (2003), UC San Diego, Department of Ophthalmology Outstanding Teacher Award 2009-2010 in Recognition of Outstanding Contributions and Dedication to Residency Education.
