Dr. Philip Kim is a comprehensive optometrist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. His clinical focus involves ocular disease and neuro-ophthalmic disorders including optic nerve pathologies, double vision, and other eye movement disorders. He is part of the Urgent Eye Care Clinic and cares for patients with eye-related issues such as flashes of light and floaters, sudden vision loss, and pain in or around the eye.
Dr. Kim earned his bachelor’s degrees in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University in Canada, and Vision Science at Nova Southeastern University in Florida. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University and graduated with honors.
Following his education, Dr. Kim completed residency training in ocular disease at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Florida. After completion of his residency, Dr. Kim became an Assistant Professor in Optometry at Nova Southeastern University, and then joined the faculty at the Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins Hospital in the Division of Neuro-ophthalmology.
