Henry A. Ferreyra

Henry A. Ferreyra, MD, is an Professor of Ophthalmology and the Director of Medical Student Education. Dr. Ferreyra obtained his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego. He completed his residency in ophthalmology and fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases at the University of California, San Diego. He subsequently studied electroretinography and retinal dystrophies at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Ferreyra’s clinical interests include electrophysiology, inherited disorders of the retina, paraneoplastic retinopathy/autoimmune retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinopathy of prematurity. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Ferreyra is an active researcher and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and participated in many clinical trials. He has been recognized for his teaching and he has been the recipient of the Outstanding Teaching Award numerous times.
