Amber Candelaria, OD

Amber Candelaria, OD is a comprehensive optometrist who specializes in low vision and ocular disease. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of California, Los Angeles, and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley. She then completed a residency in vision rehabilitation at the Western University College of Optometry where she received advanced training in low vision and neuro-optometric rehabilitation.

Dr. Candelaria leads the Low Vision Clinic which offers cutting-edge tools and technologies for patients whose vision is not correctable with glasses or contact lenses. She works closely with patients who have conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and other forms of vision loss. She is part of the Urgent Eye Care Clinic and cares for patients with eye-related issues such as flashes and floaters, sudden vision loss, pain in or around the eye, sudden double vision, eye infections and injury. She also provides comprehensive eye exams.

Dr. Candelaria takes the time to understand each patient’s unique lifestyle, goals, and challenges, crafting personalized strategies and recommending tools—from magnifiers and assistive technology to custom visual training—that restore confidence and promote autonomy. She strives to provide patient-centered care that empowers others to navigate life with greater confidence, comfort, and clarity.
